Won't Be Good For The Propoganda Machine

September 22nd 2007 02:28
I think the whole 'let me visit your country and pay my respects' isn't what the US government wants, not after painting a pretty little potrait of an Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan threesome all going about disrupting world peace (or whatever).

Propoganda or not by trying to deny the Iranian president the right to speak and be heard is more of an indication that people are afraid of what he might say. God forbid he says something about peace and cooperation with the west, how the hell is Dick Cheney going to make money for his company through peace?

To well with that I say! To hell with that!

Lets just, you know, not let him speak, because we aren't really about freedom of speach and we really aren't about bringing peace to the world. We are more about going to war, straining the damned economy even further and then crying foul when the war doesn't go the way we want blaming it on fairtales, then bringing up 9/11 like it's at all relevent and desperately trying to sway public opinion using emotions.

But yeah, don't let the Iranian president talk, war with Iran right after Iraq because thats the only way Dick Cheney can increase his networth (for the forseeable future). I'm an idiot middle class moron whose defending the rich and powerful for taking my country to war to make more money.

My politicians know better than me, they convinced me that war is good, and I believe them. Of course I do because, well, when you think about it, it all just makes sense that my views are defined by other people. It's good, it's why America is such a great nation, because people like me don't have to think, our minds are made up by those we vote for.

Well, that's interesting. Do you think he should be able to visit ground zero?

Well, they let him talk at Columbia..HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Best thing they could have done, in my opinion.

ah, the bastard is trying to win the support of the extremist right wingers with that one.

He's probably catching some fundamentalist sleep in bed with bush and go to war with everything 'christians' off gaurd with that one.

It's actually quite smart, since liberals don't want war it isn't in his interest to gain their support, rather he's gaining good favor from the war mongers.

Do you really think that's his strategy with the denial of homosexuals? I dunno..that seems pretty far-fetched to me, Ahmed. I mean, right-wingers know that homosexuals exist--they just don't want to let them get married or be openly gay.

What this guy was saying was that there were literally no homosexuals in Iran. None. Zip. He wasn't metaphorically saying that they weren't recognised, he was saying that no Iranian is homosexual.

Even the right-wingers in the audience got a laugh out of that statement.

well I dunno, the guy doesn't want war and he's going the full circle trying to avoid it. Seems like the only reason he'd bring up the whole homosexual thing, otherwise it seems kind of irrelevent.
