Whats the Difference Between a Liberal and a Conservative?

If you watch Family Guy you undoubtedly know the episode where Louis is in the elections and finds the best way to make people cheer is by saying '9/11 was bad' or anything along those lines.
When you think about it, this extends to liberals even, though it isn't '9/11', with liberals it's 'equal rights are awesome!', 'Religion should stop trying to take over the political system!' etc, etc.
If you put down a rational argument to either person or attempt to explain something you may find the response is the same, 'this is bad' or 'this is good', no doubt those are true, however getting a cheer is one thing, rationalising it and talking about something real is a different thing entirely.
What if, for instance, it was shown that gay men are more likely to contract aids than straight men? This isn't saying gays are evil doers who get aids for their evils (though it could be made to sound like it), though the response it will get from a liberal would be something along the lines of 'everyone deserves equal rights no matter their sexual preference'. True? Yes. Relevent? Hardly.
In reality no matter where you stand politically, it seems that getting cheers means more than getting things done. Saying something you believe in passionately seems to over rule actions upon what you say. Neither side will get anything done, everyone who is a politician is just a sorry excuse of a 'public servant'. In the end thats what politics is, isn't it?

Lets face it, we live in a 30 second sound bite world; we accept posing, posturing and spiel as the norm, and why not, reading, writing along with introspection and critical thinking have been cast into the porcelain waste repository for recycling ...as sound bites ..as poses ..as posturing ..as spieling..
When put to the right rap beat, the whole thing is kinda catchy..
