This is How Stupidly Superficial Society Is and Don't Dare Tell me I'm Wrong

October 27th 2008 16:54
There has been breaking news coming out of Chicago this morning. Police have found the 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban that they were looking for in connection to the search for Jennifer Hudsonís nephew, Julian. There was also a body of a boy found inside the vehicle. It hasnít been confirmed that it is Jenniferís nephew, but the boy is said to be around the same age as Julian.

All we can do is keep praying that the body isnít Julian and that heís still out there alive.

We will keep you updated.

Can you tell me what's wrong with this? Let me help you, it has something to do with this line: "All we can do is keep praying that the body isnít Julian and that heís still out there alive."

Let me reemphasize this point here: "There was also a body of a boy found inside the vehicle".

Still not sure? Well OK, how about I put it like this: So it's OK to 'pray' the body of the boy is not related to a celebrity because why? If he isn't related to a celebrity it makes it alright that he is dead, probably murdered?

Does it make it alright? No.

But it's just how people are, all the 'my heart goes out to their family', the 'I was so worried about them', the 'I pray for their safety' boils down to this: will anyone give a damn about me for being all thoughtful to these strangers?

Not to tell you you're wrong or anything, but let's not judge all of society by its weakest link (there's a zinger in here about Celebrity Bloggers, but I'm not going there! ) Consider the source. It's pretty disturbing, though, that the first thing that blogger thought was, "Oh, I hope that's someone else's dead 7 year old."

Well that does show how low and superficial society is. It is also the media that tends to pick and choose the stories it deems news worthy. If this happened to a stange family in small town USA we would only be informed if the people were rich or beautiful!

All we could do is keep praying that the body isn't Julian's-proves that people are stupid and superficial and I agree with you 100%!
