The Ku Klux Klan Was a, and Is a Conservative Organisation

I'd like to say they're as far right wing as they come but somehow I know theres going to be someone whose going to defend them. Besides the obvious fact they believe black people and Jews are the 'in control' minorities who must be killed off.
Back in the late 1800s the KKK went on a 'reign of terror' killing many Republican senators and black people in southern states.
Later on in 1974 David Duke, a KKK member, was elected into Government. He was a Republican.
What happened? How? I mean, KKK were killing republicans in the 1800s, why the change of heart? Well there was a change of pholosophy too. The Democrats used to be right wingers, southern states used to vote Democrat. Things took a bit of a switcheroo after the Republicans created a 'Liberal Republican Party' and that somehow got dissolved into the Democrat party as conservative Democrats changed to republican due to policy changings.
Isn't it interesting how names stay but views differ? Look at a KKK promo back 1868, these folks even had a movie made in their honour.
Lets go back to the people themselves, Elaine Frantz Parsons said of them,
So they were essentially crazy white Democrats hell beant on killing black people for any number of given reasons. Kind of difficult understanding though isn't it? Back in the 1800s they were Democrats then they turned to Republicans. You would think with the massive division between the Right and the Left such a switch could never occur.

"Lifting the Klan mask revealed a chaotic multitude of antiblack vigilante groups, disgruntled poor white farmers, wartime guerrilla bands, displaced Democratic politicians, illegal whiskey distillers, coercive moral reformers, bored young men, sadists, rapists, white workmen fearful of black competition, employers trying to enforce labor discipline, common thieves, neighbors with decades-old grudges, and even a few freedmen and white Republicans who allied with Democratic whites or had criminal agendas of their own. Indeed, all they had in common, besides being overwhelmingly white, southern, and Democratic, was that they called themselves, or were called, Klansmen."

For the Sake of Argument
My Apologetics
Woodrow Wilson supported the KKK before his war service but dropped them after. He was apparently put in charge of a company of predominently Catholic soldiers. Considered to be enemy number 1 after the Blacks and Jews on the KKK hit list. Whether he changed his opinion or supressed it is not known.
It was in later years as the KKK started fall appart that they became enemy of the state and considered to be terrorists.
Things change and left becomes right.
