In the wake of the Jaipur blasts and subsequent threats to Muslim clerics for raising their voices against the strikes, leading Islamic seminary Darul Uloom, Deoband, on Wednesday said campaign against terrorism will continue even as a mass rally has been convened in Delhi later this month in this regard.

Condemning the terror attacks carried in the name of religion, Darul-uloom Vice Chancellor Moulana Ahmad Khazir Shah said: "Islam is a religion of peace and to give it a bad name, unscrupulous elements are carrying acts of violence and bloodshed, which is highly regrettable."

Moulana, on a five-day visit to the Kashmir valley, told a gathering in his ancestral village of Anwarabad-Lolab in Kupwara asked Muslims community to isolate "those who try to give a bad name to Islam by their acts and speeches".

General secretary of Ulema-e-Hind Altaf Ahmad Masoodi stressed on the inclusion of subjects like IT, computer science and science in madarsas to "broaden the horizons of upcoming students".

He also said it was the right of Indian Muslims to be the part of Organisation of Islamic Countries. In Muzaffarnagar, deputy VC of Darul-uloom Moulana Kari Usman said campaigns and rallies against anti-Islam activities would continue.

"Our stand against terrorism will not be affected by threats from terrorists," Usman said.

As many as six Muslim clerics were apparently threatened by terror group Indian Mujahideen, which also claimed responsibility for the May 13 Jaipur blasts that killed 64 people, for their voice against terrorism.

Meanwhile Ulemas and intellectuals will participate in a mass anti-terror rally in Delhi on May 31.

This is one of those things that brought a smile to my face, it appears some people are so caught up in hating Muslims that they let their own bigotry out even when complaining why someone else is not being attacked for his supposed bigotry. Does that make sense?

Well basically certain people are asking why Muslims don't find the following image offensive, reasoning that it has something to do with those health care giving, violence decrying dastardly leftists:

That is as part of a movie poster for 'Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden'. Now I know there will be someone out there who will take offence at that picture but the reason there isn't a more unanimous outcry of sorts is because it is not being offensive to Muslims.

The thing is, that is pretty far off from a stereotype, at best it stereotypes Bedouins at worst it stereotypes Muslims from the Middle East as crazy ass camel jockeys. Though really why I think it is not so offensive, and why our lovely right-wingers are getting their nickers in knots is because the movie isn't about how Muslims are hell bent on conquering the world.

It's a Holocaust, After All

March 1st 2008 04:56
Palestinians have long since claimed that Israels actions are much like a holocaust, something the Israeli government has on all levels denied. Well, it looks like they have been lying like good politicians as Israels War Minister not only acknowledged it was a holocaust but said it would get even worse.

"The more Qassam fire intensifies, and the rockets reach a longer range, they will bring upon themselves a bigger holocaust because we will use all our might to defend ourselves," Mr Vilnai told Army Radio.

Far be it for me to say that the Holocaust is something that goes beyond all proportions and probably can't be compared so liberally with the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. If that is how the politicians choose to view it and worse yet, choose to position themselves as the proverbial Nazis one has to wonder, does the Israeli War Minister know exactly what the Nazis are responsible for?

He is in effect is saying that 'yes, there is a holocaust happening and it is only going to get worse, I know, because I am instigating it'.

Gaza militants risk 'holocaust': Israeli minister

They Hate Us For Our Freedom

Washington : One of the largest-ever opinion polls conducted in the Islamic world found that seven percent of Muslims condoned the Sep 11, 2001, attacks on the US, but none of them gave religious justification for their beliefs, according to the figures released Tuesday.

The Gallup organisation's poll of some 50,000 people in over 35 predominantly Muslim countries found that what motivated those considered "politically radicalised" was their fear of occupation by the West and the US, though most even admired and hoped for democratic principles.

The west and the middle east are in a clash of ideologies some would say, yet it's really the entire world that is in a clash of ideologies between those who love freedom and those who love their own freedom.

Mitt Romney perfectly demonstrated just why conservatives have gone too far with their own religion so much so that it essentially mirrors that of the Islamic terrorists who will fight us over here if we don't fight them over there

If You Don't Know Why 'They' Hate 'You'

February 22nd 2008 08:12
Put yourself in their shoes. Imagine your country is controlled by a foreign power, if you can't imagine such a thing because obviously you belong to the strongest nation on earth imagine a bunch of Aliens in huge spaceships one day decide to start floating over your cities. Then instead of blowing you sorry lot away with their clear superiority (though threatening to do so on their news channels) they instead decide to stick plungers in your pubs and various alcohol retailers and start sucking out the juices so they can power their cars in their alien world.

Now imagine they get lazy and decide they want to instead have you send the bear over to them. So they manipulate your political system, install phony balony 'leaders' who, if you are lucky, will simply say that you must serve your alien masters, though if you're unlucky said leader will more or less destroy whatever society you have and frequently torture and kidnap your friends and family

The Pakistani government simply can't make up its mind on who to blame for the the assasination of Bhutto even making the outrageous claim that she died after she bumped her head!

The official story is now that Bhutto sustained a fracture to the skull from a suicide bomb, the only supporting evidence is an X-Ray released by Musharafs administration with no proof it belongs to Bhutto
