It's a Holocaust, After All

March 1st 2008 04:56
Palestinians have long since claimed that Israels actions are much like a holocaust, something the Israeli government has on all levels denied. Well, it looks like they have been lying like good politicians as Israels War Minister not only acknowledged it was a holocaust but said it would get even worse.

"The more Qassam fire intensifies, and the rockets reach a longer range, they will bring upon themselves a bigger holocaust because we will use all our might to defend ourselves," Mr Vilnai told Army Radio.

Far be it for me to say that the Holocaust is something that goes beyond all proportions and probably can't be compared so liberally with the Palestinian/Israeli conflict. If that is how the politicians choose to view it and worse yet, choose to position themselves as the proverbial Nazis one has to wonder, does the Israeli War Minister know exactly what the Nazis are responsible for?

He is in effect is saying that 'yes, there is a holocaust happening and it is only going to get worse, I know, because I am instigating it'.

I only just read about this a couple of days ago. Yeah, Israel has certainly been going about the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians, but the fact they can actually use the word "holocaust" without the world batting an eyelid shows that Israel is pretty much untouchable. I can't believe they can still claim to want peace and I can't believe I actually almost believed them.

When I was young and would hear the mantra "never again!" I foolishly thought that it referred to everyone. That never again would an entire population be degraded, humiliated and murdered. I am still stunned that the victims of that other holocaust are the perpetrators in this one.

Israel's onslaught to date can be considered worse than the original crimes which perpetuated the need for a Jewish state.

I say that entirely with no hint of exaggeration. Israel should not be recognised as a legal state.
