Big Mistake: Male Circumcision Not Provided in Victorian Public Hospitals
August 12th 2007 13:06
Homosexuals like to have 'longer penises', at least thats what one study found when asking men to measure their own members (though it was later debunked when the researchers used a ruler).
So is this about homosexuality? No, not really, I just thought I'd bring up that interesting little tid bit.
This is about male circumcision, the same one that reduces the chance of HIV infection by 60% for men (sorry ladies, at least it's all the more reason to wear protection(. Thats quite large considering.
We need to focus on choice, giving parents that option. It isn't so much 'let my boy grow old and make up his own mind' because when he's older it's going to hurt him a heck of a lot more than if he's younger.
It is essentially just extra skin, and is very much seperate to the rest of the body at a younger age. Even blood loss is extremely minimal for infants, you'd think cutting off such a large portion of the body would result in significant blood loss (imagine cutting off the tip of your finger for instance)..

Especially in some circumstances where the foreskin is too small and it causes pain for boys, and potential infections.
I'm pro-choice.
Cheers
