America Gives ANOTHER $30 Billion To Israel For Military Spending (LINK)

August 17th 2007 10:35
What a way to stabalize a region, but stability isn't in the interests of the US government. A peaceful Israel is not an Israel that will attack its neighbours on a whim from the US.

US Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns has signed a deal that will provide Israel with $30bn (£14.8bn) of military aid over the next 10 years.

Is it just ironic that the persons name is 'Mr. Burns'?

What, don't you think we have to give and sell tons of weapons to Israel, and now Saudi Arabia? How can we prepare for the great Sunni (plus Israel de facto) vs. the evil Shiites and radical war? Don't you want to get the tourists?

But, what ever happen to Saddam's Yellowcake?

Well it isn't selling so much so it's giving...

So you mean if Israel pays the $3 billion a year, it's OK if they help blow up the world? Like we used to say in New York: Such a Bargain! Everyday's a sale day at May's. If a nuke is dropped, will it be wholesale or retail?

I'm just saying, if they had to buy the weapons they wouldn't fair so well. stop giving it to them.

Unfortunately, in this complicated world we have to look for overall solutions, not magic bullets. I don't think stopping sales of weapons to Israel, and Saudi Arabia is the answer. I don't think stopping giving Israel weapons is the total answer, though it could be a start. If we don't end this Iraq war soon, Israel will end up helping the USA to attack Iran. That means we must force the resignation, or impeachment of Dick Cheney.

It's probably a start, stop arming countries even if for monetary gain.

Though it probably won't end with impeaching cheney/bush, it looks like most of congress is bought and paid for. I mean, they kicked bill clinton out for having sex straight away, GWB and Cheney have been doing a lot worse but no one will touch them. Probablyh because hardly anyone in congress actually wants to end the war (for any given reason).

The Kucinich bill( HR 333?) to impeach Cheney has 18 sponsors now. With the financial system disintegrating, there may be an urge to accelerate. Where's there's life there's hope.
