63929 Iraqis Dead, 3 Americans Missing - What Makes The News?
May 20th 2007 01:55
I wrote previously about how our obsession with our own perfection and the faults of foreign cultures had made us so ignorant that we have forgotten to see our own mistakes in life.
No other way is this more clear than the three missing Americans which a certain someone is glamorizing as the biggest thing since George Bush stepped on a battleship.
I do not expect the terrorists to show any decency to the poor captured Americans, why should they give a damn about the Geneva convention? The US military does have a wonderful history in relation to it.

Two wrong do not make a right in my mind.
It is ironic that 3 captured soldiers have changed the entire strategy of the Bush's great crackdown. Thousands of soldiers are being diverted to the search for soldiers and away from the task of cracking down on insurgents in Iraq.
The lesson that insurgents will take away from this is that caputuring American soldiers makes them lose focus on their strategic goals.

and as you pointed out, three kidnapped Americans seem to hold more significance than 3000 dead.
