So much for right versus left. Mr Brooks also finds that extremists of both sides are happier than moderates. Some 35% of those who call themselves “extremely liberal” say they are very happy, against only 22% of ordinary liberals. For conservatives, the gap is smaller: 48% to 43%. Extremists are happy, Mr Brooks reckons, because they are certain they are right. Alas, this often leads them to conclude that the other side is not merely wrong, but evil. Some two-thirds of America's far left and half of the far right say they dislike not only the other side's ideas, but also the people who hold them.

This is one of those things that brought a smile to my face, it appears some people are so caught up in hating Muslims that they let their own bigotry out even when complaining why someone else is not being attacked for his supposed bigotry. Does that make sense?

Well basically certain people are asking why Muslims don't find the following image offensive, reasoning that it has something to do with those health care giving, violence decrying dastardly leftists:

That is as part of a movie poster for 'Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden'. Now I know there will be someone out there who will take offence at that picture but the reason there isn't a more unanimous outcry of sorts is because it is not being offensive to Muslims.

The thing is, that is pretty far off from a stereotype, at best it stereotypes Bedouins at worst it stereotypes Muslims from the Middle East as crazy ass camel jockeys. Though really why I think it is not so offensive, and why our lovely right-wingers are getting their nickers in knots is because the movie isn't about how Muslims are hell bent on conquering the world.

'Free Tibet' flags made in China

Police in southern China have discovered a factory manufacturing Free Tibet flags, media reports say.

The factory in Guangdong had been completing overseas orders for the flag of the Tibetan government-in-exile.

Workers said they thought they were just making colourful flags and did not realise their meaning.

But then some of them saw TV images of protesters holding the emblem and they alerted the authorities, according to Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper.

Tibet independence

The factory owner reportedly told police the emblems had been ordered from outside China, and he did not know that they stood for an independent Tibet.

A protest founded not on the desire to do right but feel good about doing something right can only lead to such pathetic displays of self humiliation.

Big surprise, Jimmy Carter has now been labelled a 'bigot' by Israel's Ambassador to the UN for (of all things) *gasp* *shock* *horror* talking to Hamas rather than pouring a good three billion into Israels war machine.

Israel's ambassador to the United Nations on Thursday called former President Jimmy Carter "a bigot" for meeting with the leader of the militant Hamas movement in Syria.

The Terms ‘Boyfriend’, ‘Girlfriend’, ‘Hubby’, ‘Wife’, ‘Husband’ and ‘Spouse’ Have Been Banned Deemed Homophobic

Teachers will undergo ‘diversity training’ so that they learn such diverse terms like ‘boyfriend’ and ‘husband’ are homophobic as part of a massive anti-homophobic campaign in Queensland. Education Director-General Michael Coutts has taken the helm of this little campaign, which can at best be described ‘hypocritical’ saying that “We value diversity and include everyone in the life of the school … meeting the bare legal requirement is not enough” […] “Public education has a responsibility to include … to strive to make all feel welcome.” And I thought the gay rights movement made a mockery of itself with the Jay Leno incident

Before anyone takes those words out of context let me just say this is just an unproven theory and that this may be coincedence rather than causality.

Does anyone notice how high the suicide rates are in countries like Norway, Australia, France and Germany? Some of the most 'livable' cities in the world with the highest literacy rates and best healthcare, not to mention they provide some of the best opportunities and jobs yet they lack in terms of spirituality and religion

I've found 'The Sun' to be quite the newspaper... if you're an idiot. As an example let me present to you one of their articles. Keep in mind I'm not going to reproduce anything here besides the title, you can go see the article for yourself here.

The title is

Boycotting the Olympics...

March 30th 2008 13:53
Is an act of hypocrisy.

To only make yourself feel better you have to wonder, what are you doing? Is it truly for the greater good or is just for yourself? I dare say those who want to boycott the Olympics couldn't survive a week boycotting Chinese exports
